Bluegrass Billbug Control in Lawns
If you have not already treated your lawns for Bluegrass Billbug, now is the time. Their damage is often overlooked because it looks much like drought stress. Damage usually appears in late June and continues through August. After eggs hatch the larvae begin feeding in the lawn. Do the "tug test" by pulling the affected turf upward. if it comes up easily and a saw-dust-like material is present - billbugs are likely the culprit. They are white, 1/4 of an inch long with a brown head. The Anderson's Duocide is a water dispersable granule that spreads easily and releases quickly for excellent control. Aloft contains Clothianidin and Bifenthrin for a quick knock down and a residual season long control. Eliminating costly retreats. Irrigation following all applications ensures quick complete results.

Slug and Snail Control
Slugs and snails are two of our most destructive garden pests. Although their outward appearance is quite different, they are essentially the same creature, except that the slug does not have the external shell of the snail.
Slugs and snails feed almost entirely at night, in the evening or during dark days. They prefer moist, warm conditions and rarely venture from their hiding places during cold weather or during exceedingly dry or hot spells.
Slugs and snails hatch from eggs, laid in clusters, under debris, stones, compost heaps or beneath the surface of the soil. Generally, they will hatch out ofter 20 to 30 days of favorable weather conditions after which time they will continue to grow slowly.
While these small slugs and snails are growing and eating they migrate towards better feeding and sheltering conditions.
Visit your IFA Store for great Slug and Snail Bait Pellets or contact your Turf and Ornamental Account Manager for more information.
